Vitreous Enamel Defined

August 12, 2020 1 min read

Vitreous Enamel is made by utilizing extreme heat to fuse tiny grains of glass to metal. During the firing process, the glass powder melts and flows. As the piece cools, Enamel hardens to a durable and vitreous layer permanently bonded to the supporting surface. Additional layers of glass and repeated firings are then used to create the design, depth, and unique beauty of each piece.
