The Northern Flicker is a large, brown woodpecker with a gentle expression and handsome black-scalloped plumage. Other than hanging in your art collection, Northern Flickers are often found in the open woodlands of North America. Like other woodpeckers, they nest in the cavities of trees but unlike other woodpeckers, Northern Flickers forage on the ground eating mainly insects, like ants and beetles, along with fruits and seeds.
Northern Flicker is a single, enameled panel. The hammered surface texture increases the reflective sparkle and projects the bird forward from the background.
