The Black Throated Tit is tiny bird typically seen throughout the Himalayas. While they are known to have great variation in appearance, the black-throat, bandit-mask, and bold yellow eyes are classic features. The inspiration for this piece came from a photograph of a Black-Throated Tit taken in Jiangxi, China. This particular bird, a male, demonstrates the classic bold pattern along with colorful chestnut, white, and black markings.
Black Throated Tit is a single, enameled panel. The hammered surface texture increases the reflective sparkle and projects the bird forward from the background.
